Dynaton DSS Modules

Dynaton DSS Modules are complete Dynaton DDRC/RoomIE System-On-Board. This means that all hardware and software are implemented on a Printed Circuit Board Assembly – and all you need to do is to attach the Dynaton DSS Module on your own electronics – and you have implemented Dynaton Technology to your products.

Dynaton DSS Modules are operated via some simple codes so it does not require any significant know-how or experience to design a fully functional DDRC/RoomIE system.

The design-in is thus very simple and fast to do – so your Time-To-Market can be short which is an advantage. Dynaton DSS Modules are ideal for low-volume applications such as Ultra High-End Audio and Professional Audio. It is also ideal for conceptual prototypes or demonstrator products of medium- to high-volume products that ultimately wil be implemented as Dynaton Chip Solutions, Dynaton DSP Solutions or Dynaton Software Solutions.

The typical Dynaton DSS Modules are approximately the same physical size as a Creditcard and hence quite easy to find mounting area for. In terms of Total Cost the Dynaton DSS Modules are applicable for low-volume products – the implementation cost is very low compared to other Dynaton OEM Products. In fact so low that no one professional cannot afford to implement and benefit from Dynaton Technology in their OEM products!

The manufacturing cost is, not surprisingly, higher than other Dynaton OEM Products for implementation as a “component” in your products. However, when considering Total Cost and the high quality of the Dynaton DSS Modules they are in fact reasonably priced for the typical applications where they are used.

Here it is worthwhile to remember that the Golden Ear Award Winning Copland DRC-205 features no less than 2 pieces of Dynaton DRC-101 Modules – and for its market the Copland DRC-205 was a moderately priced piece of Ultra High-End Hi-Fi.

Dynaton DSS Modules comes mainly in two variants:

  • A version with Analog Input and Analog Output
  • A version with Digital Input and Digital Output

The advantage is that you thus can implement e.g. Dynaton RoomIE directly in pure Analog Audio devices as well as you can decide upon the ADC/DAC/CODEC yourself as you pleases.

Dynaton DRC-100 Module

The Dynaton DRC-100 is becoming an old “workhorse” in Dynaton. It features a complete High-Speed Analog Devices BlackFIN BF533 DSP and all the required other Digital Electronics.

The Dynaton DRC-100 Module is intended as an easy-to-implement DSP Platform for Dynaton Technologies with Digital Input and Digital Output. The Dynaton DRC-100 Module has DDRC implemented as default and supports up to 31 bit audio-signals making it ideal for 16 bit – 24 bit Audio systems.

The Dynaton DRC-100 Modules comes as standard with the same Dynaton Software Solution as used in the Golden Ear Award Winning Copland DRC-205 (just without the CODEC).

Dynaton DRC-101 Module

The Dynaton DRC-101 Module is basically the same Analog Devices BlackFIN BF533 based Dynaton DRC-100 but instead of Digital Input – Digital Output, the Dynaton DRC-101 Module has Analog Input – Analog Output. The ADC-DAC (CODEC) is a 24 bit converter with very good specifications that even today stands out showing that older does not need to say less good performance. The DRC-101 Module has up to 114dB S/N Ratio (110dB on the Analog Inputs) with excellent linearity so this CODEC is still today a component to watch for. The best reference for the Dynaton DRC-101 Module is however the fact that this is the Dynaton DSS Module that won thee Golden Ear Award and was Editors Choice in three consecutive years for the Copland DRC-205. The Dynaton DRC-101 Module has DDRC implemented as default and supports up to 31 bit audio-signals making it ideal for 16 bit – 24 bit Audio Systems.

Dynaton DSS-100 Module

The Dynaton DSS-100 is the updated revision of the older Dynaton DRC-100 Module. The new upgraded revision Dynaton DSS-100 supports more efficient Dynaton Technologies such as the Dynaton RoomIE and uses moder efficient newer Analog Devices BlackFIN DSP’s as well. The Dynaton DSS-100 Module has RoomIE implemented as default and supports up to 32 bit audio-signals making it ideal for 16 bit – 24 bit Audio Systems and even applicable for 32 bit Audio Systems. The Input/Output on Dynaton DSS-100 are Digital.

The Small Prints

Dynaton DSS Modules are only available to registered Dynaton OEM Customers with minimum a Dynaton Basic License. Commercial terms and prices/royalties are calculated upon a case-by-case condition.

Dynaton Implementation Projects are mandatory for all Dynaton DSS Modules that requires Dynaton to spend R&D resources upon providing the agreed OEM Product/Solution (but Feasibility Study and Pilot Projects are not mandatory – however, highly recommended to reduce both cost and risk).
